Lift Systems
When the legs weaken, it will become difficult for either, you, the individual with ALS or a caregiver to help transfer you to the bed, wheelchair, commode, shower chair, or alternative sitting area, without doing harm to yourself or to your caregiver. At this time, it is much safer for both of you to use a lift system. There are three different types of lift systems that are commonly used in homes to make for easier transfers from a bed to the wheelchair/ shower/toilet, etc. These lift systems make it easy for even a small person to lift a person larger than oneself.

The following are the most commonly used:
Patient Lifters
E-Z Pivot Lift
Ceiling Mounted
Home Adaptations
Slings
Hoyer Lift
